Summary 201

Second time now I realized a bit late that our date of reckoning had arrived.  Flying in late last night, I wasn’t about to start up the effort of culling all the chengyu, music and links for the last nineteen days.  So off we go, on to it, this morning.  Somewhere back there around the one hundred and eighty third day or so, we passed the half way mark for the year.  Now, out at two hundred and one, we’re well into the second half.  Heard an Ebo Taylor song this morning at the gym.  I recalled writing about him in one of the early entries and that feels like a remarkably long time ago, from this vantage.   I’m already anticipating the day when I have 365 of them to cull through.

Looking over the last nineteen entries, the music dates are more varied than they’ve been in the past.  There was an interesting segue into the contemporary fostered by the random exploration on Rdio’s heavy rotation.   Unlike summaries past this time there were “only” six of the nineteen songs that were recorded in the 1960s.  Much like other summaries I find I use Wiki and the New York Times to excess.  This time there was also a lot more reportage from the road.   It tends to make for a greater variety of photographic material, but for more frenzied entries in general as you’re up late and then up early again, playing catch up all day.

For now, I’m glad to be back home, settled in, with no immediate plans to travel.  This morning, walking to the gym, for the first time in I don’t know how long, I had to get rain coat, as it was truly pouring outside.  Everything seemed relieved.
